About Class III
Class 3 is a step up: Environmental Studies (The World Around Us) appears as a full subject, mathematics introduces multiplication and division, and language readers carry longer stories and poems. Children are expected to write short answers in their own words for the first time. The EVS chapters are especially rich — family, food, water, travel, and living things — and they reward observation: most questions can be answered by noticing things at home and outside.
Study tips
- After each EVS chapter, look for one real example near your home.
- Practise multiplication tables a little every day rather than in bursts.
- Encourage writing 2–3 line answers instead of one-word replies.
