About Class VI
Class 6 opens middle school with a full subject split for the first time: separate Science, Social Science, and Mathematics textbooks replace the single EVS book. The Science chapters introduce food, materials, motion, and living organisms through activities; Social Science begins with early humans, the earth, and local government; Mathematics formalises integers, fractions, algebra basics, and geometry. Students who read each chapter before it is taught in class find the year dramatically easier.
Study tips
- Read the Science chapter first, then do the activities — in that order.
- Draw every geometry figure yourself instead of only looking at it.
- Make timeline charts for History chapters; dates stick better visually.
