About English

NCERT English readers combine prose, poetry, and grammar in stories chosen as much for values as for language. Exam success here comes from two habits: reading each lesson closely enough to answer reference-to-context questions, and writing answers in clean, grammatical sentences of the right length. The poems deserve special attention — learn the devices (simile, metaphor, alliteration) the questions always probe.
